Volunteer Banquet
The theme for the 2006 Volunteer Banquet was Galatians 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Participant Geraldine Planter shared her testimony to more than 100 volunteers and supporters at the 2006 Volunteer Recognition and Reception at Forest Hills Baptist Church in Brentwood.  The event was to thank and recognize the 250 volunteers and the transformation they bring to the lives of participants.  "Without their hands and time we could not serve the large numbers of women who call on our ministry", said RebekahSumrall, CWJC Executive Director.

Christian Women's Job Corps received the national 2006 Samaritan Award by the Acton Institute at the reception.  The Samaritan Award is presented to faith-based ministries which exemplify effective compassion.

CWJC also announced its name change at the Volunteer Reception.  Because of the expansion to include two new satellite sites, Christian Women's Job Corps-Nashville changed to Christian Women's Job Corps of Middle Tennessee.

Brentwood Baptist Church received the "Hand Up Church Partner Award" for the vital role they have played in supporting the organization through funding, prayers, supplies and volunteers.
