Truth. Safety. Sharing. Success. Sorrow. Friendships. Mentors. Prayers. Encouragement. Faith. Love. These are just a few of the words that describe Bible Study at CWJC. And it’s just one hour.
Just one hour each week where we can look into the word of God for guidance and look into our hearts for revelation.
Just one hour each week where we can come together and encourage each other in our walk of faith.
Just one hour each week where prayers uplift our lives.
Just one of my favorite hours of the week!
We often have visitors. We’ve had friends, missionaries, successful business women, mentors, potential volunteers, and special guests like Barbara Winfrey and past First Lady of Tennessee Betty Dunn join us in our Bible time. A recent visitor said to me, “I can see how this is addictive.”
Sometimes we study about women in the Bible and sometimes we look to the great stories of faith like Joshua to keep us strong and give us courage. We study about healthy boundaries and how they help shape positive relationships. We spend time learning about the structure and themes of the books of the Bible. Sometimes we journal and write about the stories we read. And, most importantly, we learn about the power of prayer.
At the end of our hour, we leave wanting more. Wanting to know more about God’s word. Wanting to see where God will take us. Wanting to wait on Him.
