Can We Be Real…

Bible Study

Can we be real, Ms. Jamie?

This is the question that often starts a Bible study at CWJC. Because the issues are real – job searches, unexpected pregnancies, the death of a child, recovery, struggles with math, cars that won’t start and buses that don’t run on time. Women have real struggles and search for real answers from the Bible.

At CWJC, we’re all different. Not everyone comes to Bible study with a Christian background. And not everyone comes with adult levels of reading and comprehension. But everyone understands the power of a story. And the Bible has the most powerful stories ever told.

Stories like Mary and Martha.  Rahab.  Deborah.  Esther.  The woman at the well.  Mary.  All who had very real lives. As teachers, it’s our job to take those stories and help women see the truth for today’s living.

During the four years I’ve taught at CWJC, I’ve seen women accept Christ, learn to lean on God’s word, find a church home, improve their parenting skills, learn to trust, and strengthen their resolve to have a Christian home.

Now, that’s real.
